Microneedling is a safe and effective treatment proven to stimulate new collagen and tissue production for smoother, firmer and more toned skin.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, sometimes called 'collagen-induction therapy' is a skin rejuvenation procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns by means of boosting collagen production. It involves a trained practitioner using a mechanical device to make multiple tiny micro-injuries in your skin with sterile needles. Micro-needling treatment helps reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.
The Dermapen used at HD Aesthetics is a leading clinical micro-needling device, proven to dramatically reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and acne scarring, revealing tauter, brighter, fresh-looking skin.
Key Areas for Treatment:
Microneedling is usually performed on the face to target:
Decreased skin elasticity
Fine lines and wrinkles
Uneven skin tone
Microneedling is also effective in the treatment of stretch-marks and scarring on other parts of the body, such as :
How Does It Work?
Collagen is the key component in skin which is naturally reduced as we age. Microneedling stimulates your skin to make more collagen. The microneedling device is passed over the skin by your medical practitioner, creating thousands of microscopic pricks to skin. This minor trauma stimulates the body to responds with a healing response, resulting in new, collagen-rich tissue. This new skin tissue is more even in tone and texture.
It’s normal for the skin to lose collagen via age or injury but, by encouraging the skin to make new tissue, there may be more collagen after treatment, to help make the skin firmer.
What to expect:
Injectable appointments are generally very quick; treatments targeting wrinkles only shouldn't last more than 15 minutes.
Filler treatments will last around 30 minutes depending on the desired treatment area.
There is generally no down time after Anti-wrinkle Injections; you can carry on with your normal day.
Just make sure you follow aftercare instructions given to you by your practitioner.
The length of time between appointments varies by treatment, area and individual. If your treatment involves toxin injections, you may look to get a retreatment around the 3 to 4 month mark. Depending on your individual facial muscles, however, the effects of your treatment may be noticeable for far longer than that.
Treatments are fully personalised to you and what you're looking to achieve from your treatment, so the number of
areas treated varies from person to person.
Typically, treatment can range from £50 - £250, depending on your individual needs.
